Decor // Persian Rugs

May 7, 2013

Hello, my name is Tobe and I have a rug problem. Persian rugs, specifically.
Could someone with money laying around please buy these so I can live vicariously through you?

First, I'll take this mint condition Heriz.

Possibly this one, too.

Definitely this runner.

Probably this little gem for our powder room (sadly, a little too wide or I for reals would be bidding).

Probably this one. I mean, there's turquoise. Dah.

Looks a little rough, but it sure is purty.

Don't say I never gave you anything.

I may or may not be scouring shopping for a powder room rug. Mini persians be expensive, yo.
You think I like mine with some red?

Sidenote: Have you guys seen Ebay's new Pinterest-like layout? Genius!

SOMEONE got tired of hearing me talk about these guys, so we ran out to see if they were still waiting for me . . . and they were.

they need a little TLC and they're hanging out with some of the old mantle adornments, many of which will likely change. mostly because we (and by we i mean i) are thinking that what was going to act as a formal room might now be our dining room!

we're trying it out.

so far, i'm really liking the idea. it will allow for a much larger table and, therefore, better entertaining. yippee!

the ones that got away, part 2

i finally feel like i'm in a place to stop looking so much and start buying. furniture, that is. i have quite a talent for buying any and all unnecessary accessories that i come in contact with. what i need to be doing is saving for the wallet gaugers like rugs and furniture.

unfortunately, when i went back for some of these, they'd already been snatched up. c'est la vie.

**  warning: camera phone images  **

wants to be painted and be souped up with some new hardware.
wish we needed it because it was a good deal. would be cool to see it transform.

practically RAN over to this when i saw it, but was disappointed in the quality.

loved this painting (jenny could do this for you).
the vignette was kinda cute, i thought.

delicious french chairs.
can we please talk about the frog planter?

still thinking about this for G's room. i want a desk as one of her side tables. the gold leaf detail stole me heart.
would look good with a victoria ghost chair, wouldn't it?

cool bed. great price.
i don't think G likes the idea of a poster bed, though.

$40! i need to open an etsy shop.

surprisingly awesome in person. super deep and comfy.

mmmmmmmm.

aren't these popular? you could campaign that up in no time.

would you believe these are still there?!?!!
does that mean they want to come home with me?

already in a great fabric. score!
no pillow, please.

i measured this twice, i wanted it to work so badly. alas, it's too big for where i need it to go.

would make for a fun and pretty easy DIY. super cheap.

I DIE FOR THIS!!!! very KW, no?
i want it reeeeeeeally bad, but the only place i can think for it to go is the family room.
and mama doesn't need any more full upholstered anything in there.
i almost want to get it just to see eric's face. haha!

love these for our master bedside tables.

hellooooooo, lover.

this got my attention the first time, but i wasn't as impressed when i went back.
bistro tabletop turned wall art.

i can't seem to get into foo dogs, but couldn't overlook this display.

and because every household has one:

all images // tobe reed for because it's awesome

if you missed the first edition of things that got away, here you go.

also, you can find me over at buckets and bunches today, filling in for an almost-married Chelsea. i'm talking about one of my design home bases, modern earthy glam.

happy monday, peeps!

i have been doing a lot of antique/discount/consignment shopping for the house. a lot. and i feel like it's only fair that i share some of my hard-to-walk-away-from finds (some of which i'm going back for today, if they're still waiting for me).

mirrored chevron screen ($574,386,476,549,867,986,248,484):

these actually came home with the intention of gifting them, but we love them too much.
so guests will get the gift of using them when they come over instead :)
(set of 6 different vintage cars -- also snagged the tumbler version of the crest set in the back):

too trendy, but loved the color:

rugs are expensiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.
either that or i just love the expensive ones:

gravitating towards black for some reason:
* sorry for the blur *

wants to be recovered. too big for our space, but dig the shape and detailing:

i would buy 1,000 coffee tables if you let me:
loved this one. very nuevo estilo if paired with a colorful velvet sofa, no?

can you see that price tag? stupid:

yessssssssssssssssssssss:

contender for g/uest room. price included matching nightstands and dresser:
do people still match their furniture?

* sorry if you do. i mean no offense *

more stupid. gorgeous, but stupid:

i'm still considering this table:
it has beautiful detailing on the tabletop, and has a butterfly leaf system, which i really love because it stays round

french-y furniture kills (so did the price tag):

i am such a sucker for crystal decanters:
(of which my awesome mama gifted us 2 for christmas!!!!!!)
and they're better than all of these combined. i'll show you someday.

nice pedestal, attractive details:
only as a set and there weren't enough chairs.
plus, the price was not friendly. but i'm cheap frugal, so take that for what you will.

WHAT if you had a tabletop full of this gorgeousness?!?!!?!?
oh, you could do so many things with this china:

hahahahahahaha - i would never. but it sure is fun:

smoked gray chandy. i still think about this. the price really was right:

the mirror is missing and you can't tell that that's a marble countertop.
this was nails in person. more than i could spend on a non-essential piece of furniture,
but beautiful:

i love this to the end of the earth and back!!!!

another contender for g/uest room. could an 11-year-old possibly dig this?
it would be handed down to generation after generation of little tobe and erics:

get rid of the disgusting silk and we'll talk:
there were 6, which was awesome.

lovely strong occasional table:

my pimp cup and travel mug:

i think i'm going back for these napkin rings:
you would, right? for $16?

there were two of these:
WHO WALKS AWAY FROM A PAIR OF THESE???????

idiot.

when i'm queen with a giant sunroom:

this octagonal table was ridiculously fun with the navy upholstered chairs:
i just couldn't commit to a glass table if we're going to be having the chitlins (someday).
right?

something stopped me.
but the price was right on all counts.

all right. tell me what i'm going back for . . .
