Monday Blues // 13

December 3, 2012

Happy Monday, peeps! How did the weekend treat everyone? We finally got our tree up and all is looking quite festive. I need to fill in some serious holiday decor gaps (I finally purged a lot of hand-me-downs despite the extreme guilt), but that may have to wait until post holiday sales ensue . . .

Today's Monday Blues shots are kind of awesome in more ways than one. First, SeƱor Robshaw is supremely talented. I dare one of you to tell me you aren't obsessed with his fabrics. No seriously. You probably can't because I adore his fabrics and you're here so therefore you must love his fabrics. It's the law of physics or something. Well, his Manhattan apartment is beyond. You can find the whole thing in this month's Elle Decor.

Let's not leave out his kitchen and those sic custom cabinets. I mean, please.

But wait. Then there's his office.

You'll remember that photo when you see one of my rooms (I promise you'll see my house someday).
The man loves blue. Me likey.

THEN there's the fun fact that when I was in NYC for Blogfest back in May, I got a curious email from "J Robshaw." Totally thought someone was messing with me, so I responded that, sure, I would loooove to come see the studio and showroom. Yeah right. Come to find out, t'was actually Mr. Robshaw himself!!! Of course I dragged my favorite fellow Robshaw lover, Naomi, along for the grand tour.

He told me at one point that I was "very fresh and midwest." Which I'm going to pretend was a compliment, even though I suspect that it was more of a perplexed observation :) I'll let it slide since he is such a beautiful and gracious man in all other respects (and I do look quite midwest in this ensemble, in his defense).

Can't believe I'm just now sharing this story! Never should have taken that blogging break . . .
Another huge thank you to Mr. Robshaw for the studio tour!

haha "fresh and midwest"... I forgot about that! What did they say about me... greasy and northeasty?

It was totally fun and I forgive you for waiting 6 months before sharing the photos with me ;)

What a great story! If I were emailed by someone half as exciting as John Robshaw I'd be shouting it from my rooftop.
The colors in his home are way more subdued than I would have expected. I suppose after being around colorful fabrics all day your brain at home needs to rest.

Geeza!! I mean, I figured his home would be gorgeous but it is beyond everything!!! Those chairs! And the color of the kitchen is my dream! Thanks for posting! Xo

Ah, I do love his work! Lusting after a set of sheets for our place, actually. How much fun was it to tour his offices!? That's awesome.

One of the MOST fresh and focused collected spaces I've seen in awhile from ED. LOVE that artwork in the dining. What a way to make a statement! Who needs food when you've got art, right? ;D

I can't believe you're just sharing this too! What an amazing experience! I'm obsessed with his fabrics, yes. I spent way too much on a duvet for my daughter's room (at least it was on sale), and got two pillows for her window seat in his very affordable fabric line!

Just catching up on blog reading. What? Huh? Was John Robshaw stalking you?? How cool. I never got any interesting emails at all from anyone remotely cool when I was at Blogfest. Jealous!! You look great in your Mid-westerny outfit! :)
