I might sneak some fun in there, too.
What we WON'T be tackling anytime soon is our master bedroom. I knew this would be the case from day one, but I still itch to make our room a sanctuary. I have been dead set on charcoal grass cloth, but can't seem to pull the trigger because of the price tag. It's just too extravagant when there are so many other things draining the bank account. So we will continue to hold out until that can happen....or until I change my mind on the grass cloth. Whichever comes first.
I came across this master bedroom designed by Emily Henderson recently, and I really love the look and feel. Fresh, bold, and the right mix of old and new. Definitely going into the inspiration file.
Those geode lamps were overdone in blogland with a quickness, so I haven't considered them despite the assortment of delicious candy colors....until I saw the picture above. And now I really want one! A burl wood campaign dresser perch wouldn't hurt either.

Love how she faked larger windows with the curtains. Also sort of obsessed with the gold curtains and curtain rods. Delicious contrast with the blues. Well done, Emily.
Not that she needs my approval. I think we already knew she was awesome, didn't we?
I am dying to re do our bedroom but like you its last on our list. Loving the colors in this one. Good luck on your to list- your list sounds as daunting as ours!
ReplyDeleteGood! Get things done! Also make sure you go to the dentist after you have your baby....a lot of women actually get a lot of cavities because of hormonal changes during pregnancy....Yes,I adore this room. And yes that lam was overdone but it looks fab in white...I think I had seen it in every color except for white....amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHello! Nicole here, I know you know it is a bad idea, but I have to share my experience. I had blurry vision while I was pregnant, so I went to the eye doctor. By the time I picked out and ordered and received my glasses (about 4-6 weeks) my eyes changed and the glasses didn't work. My vision had changed. You may be wasting money on this doctor visit, but maybe you will be luckier than I was. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove the gold and navy in this master bedroom. Works beautifully.

Love this! Those curtains are fab! How funny, I also posted about how we will never do our master bedroom, but it's all I'm thinking about lately. Ha! Have fun getting the nursery together! Thanks for reminding me to call the hospital. I've seriously done nothing to prepare for this baby. Probably time to get moving!!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing this room...there's a Lulu & Georgia rug in there (where I work) and I was just floored by how she pulled it all together...again not surpising (she's pretty amazing), but love it so much!
ReplyDeleteEmily can do no wrong. Ever.
ReplyDeleteEmily is the best. Does she still have her show on HGTV? I used to love that one and DVR'd it, but then got sick of it being reruns all of the time.
ReplyDeleteLove Emily Henderson and love the contrasts of blues, golds and white in this room - fabulous inspiration. xxx
