i spooned my copy last night.

interiors // schuyler samperton

March 14, 2012

not long ago, i happily received an email from the offices of interior design super talent schuyler samperton. schuyler's portfolio thrills me because it is full of so many of the things i love to see in a space; layering of pattern, natural materials and textures, bold color, and a broad representation of genres and eras. but, perhaps most importantly, there's an ease about her style. rooms look warm, welcoming and liveable while still highly crafted and unexpected.

in short, she's goo-ood. i'm definitely taking notes for my own space!

the dining room is nothing to scoff at either.

interiors || katie ridder and a crush on color

January 25, 2012

you guys. i freaking love your comments! you honestly make my days so much better. i wish i knew every last one of you in person, because i know we would have a seriously good time.

moving on . . .

i'm sure most all of us are familiar with katie ridder's semi-recently released katie ridder rooms, yes? if not, here's what you need to go out and get immediately:

get it on amazon like i just did (late to the party, i know)

i know this might seem like a huge no-no since i just came from a conference harping on original content, but i'm in a whole new place when it comes to inspiration since i have a new house to decorate.
so bear with me if you've seen these images a thousand times.
pretend you just bought a new house to decorate, too, and you're equally obsessed with color.

katie seems to know a thing or two about color. and she's certainly not scared of it.
which i love.

it would be completely unfair for me to be considering lavendar walls for g's room now, wouldn't it?
so many ideas. so few rooms.

hellooooo, 2012! hope everyone had a great time ringing in the new year! we celebrated with friends by treating ourselves to an amazing meal and then going back to the house for games and one too many glasses of bubbly. in true form, my year was off to a slow start yesterday. but it's always worth it, right? :)

i'm also coming off quite a long break from routine with a few fun bits to show off around the house. so stay tuned for a little bit of that soon.

because i don't have said photos for you today, let's just talk about wicker, shall we? my mom has always had a thing for wicker, and i'm not going to lie (sorry, mom), i'm not sure i really had an appreciation for it until more recently. but it's turning my head more and more these days. i like the texture and warmth it brings to a space. plus, it's relatively easy to come across and often inexpensive, so you don't have to fret over ruining a piece by painting it. because what's better than a piece of furniture that you can repaint over and over again? not much.

what do you think? do you get down with a little bit of wicker?
