Inspiration // A Hallmark photo stylist's home

August 6, 2015

So I don't mention this a lot --

Okay, let's be real. I don't mention anything a lot due to my on again off again blogging schedule.

-- I work for Corporate America. And (gasp) I kind of love it. For some reason, I feel like those are words you're not allowed to say in blogland. I know there are a lot of us full-timers out there, but most don't talk about it. And I guess I've never really had a reason to either, because what I was doing for so many years (design/typography/hand lettering) didn't always relate to what I talk about here (interiors). But -- lucky me! -- those worlds have started to combine.

You see, I blog for a living now. And I get to talk about the most unbelievably talented people all day everyday. Mostly about their work, their craft, and the gorgeous products they create for our company. But sometimes I get to talk about their homes. Which is, of course, the very best part of the job for me.

Dah.

Enter Andy. He's a wildly talented photo stylist for Hallmark, which is clear from the moment you step foot into his beautiful home. He's warm, gracious, and it feels like you've known him forever from the first moment you meet. To me, his home really reflects his personality. It's one of the most enchanting spaces I've ever been. Truly. (Like, I sent him a thank you note for the wonderful photo shoot when it was technically just part of my job to be there. It's all that charming.) I couldn't help but snap one thousand pics during our shoot, but you should definitely check out all of the real deal photos (by the same Jane Kortright that has shot my own home on numerous occasions) and hear the story behind the details of Andy's stunning abode over at Think.Make.Share.

See allllllll of the Hallmark home tours to date here. That should help you kill a couple hours on this fine Friday. Don't say I didn't warn you. ox

Home Tour on Design*Sponge

March 3, 2015

Hi, friends. It's been awhile. I have missed you, and I have missed this blog. I'm always trying to find a way back because I still crave this outlet and the chance to connect with you from time to time. I have been very busy during my absence, which I hope to be telling you all about in the very near future!

In the meantime, I am over the moon to share a peek inside my home over on Design*Sponge! I have been a longtime fan of Grace and the amazing work she has done with D*S, and it's such a thrill to be one of the gorgeous homes featured there. Please do go take a look if you're interested in seeing how we live.

Here are a few outtakes to give you a taste of what you'll see over there :)

Hop on over to see more!

Michelle Smith's Chic NYC Apartment

June 11, 2014

a girl after my own heart, michelle smith (of studio mrs) makes creating an eclectic space look easy.

 there's energetic rugs...bold colors...mixed metals...large art...
all things that add up to one mighty perfect space.

i am completely weak for ferns lately. unfortunately, i'm told they're tough to keep alive in this region. (this region = midwest) secrets to success are welcome because i want them in every room.

it's all so totally classic but with that bit of flair that only some possess.
there's also a shoe closet. which, you know, genius.

you can see more of michelle's home here.
p.s. gabrielle put together the loveliest post to help you recreate that gorgeous kitchen. if you are dying get the look for yourself, hop on over to savvy home.

Normandy House by A+B KASHA Designs

June 9, 2014

i absolutely adore the charming simplicity of this normandy home.
i'm all about edited homes lately.

with so much going on around us nowadays, i'm carefully editing our home to achieve a similar sort of ease and simplicity. i just can't handle the visual chaos and maintain my sanity.

also, i'm regretting passing on a very similar set of dining chairs this past weekend.
oops.

but i did score some gorgeous rugs so there's that.

Interiors // Javier Castilla

August 16, 2013

My immediate giddy reaction to this space by Javier Castilla proves that I have not completely abandoned my masculine tendencies. I am in love.

If Eric's place had been dressed like that when we met, I would have been undressed in a hot minute.
TMI?

Also, no, I still have not had this baby.
TGIF indeed.
