a little time away is awesome

hi, friends! sorry to leave you with nothing new these last few days. i've been hard at work on some projects. G's room is finished in all of its kalamata olive splendor. it was looking a little on the cool side at first (which is weird since it's the brownest purple ever), but i think once we get more furniture, art and proper lighting in there, it will be a real stunna. she was here this weekend and seemed really excited about the new diggs! if the kid's happy, i'm happy.

this week, i'm in the middle of addressing some very cool wedding invites (white ink on metallic gunmetal gray envelopes anyone?). they're looking good so far!

i've failed to mention some guest appearances that i've made in the last few weeks, so i'm sending you off this lovely wednesday to soak them up in all of their glory.

anna of canoe design asked me to participate in her favorite furniture friday series, and i was having a moment with fanciful headboards that might be worth a peek.

well, we're in the final stretch, folks. are you ready for christmas? seeings how i have yet to purchase my holiday stamps and get my christmas cards out (even though they've been addressed for weeks), you can tell i'm totally on point this year.

i did take some time to put together a little wish list over at savvy home with many gorgeous items that are sure to make their way under my tree . . . in my dreams. come by to see what i'm lusting over!

something else i've been lusting over in an unnaturally big way lately is fur. fur fur fur. i want it on everything, and i'm successfully finding ways to sneak it into every room of the house.

a girl's gotta have priorities, you know. nevermind that we should be saving pennies for a new fridge, furniture for G's room, a dining table, anything for the formal living room . . . nope. i just want fur.

apologies for being MIA yesterday . . . operation salsa sweatshop is in full effect at our house. poor eric has been suckered into helping me can nearly 100 jars of salsa for a craft fair this weekend. gotta test the sellability of this deliciousness before we attempt to pitch it to local grocers (which we'll hopefully be doing next year).  mostly because, you know, i need one more thing to do.

aaaaaanyway. can you tell me what these as-delicious-as-my-salsa spaces have in common, hmmmm?

you are correct. they're all super moody with black, naturals (to include animal prints, natural fabrics, wood, grassiness, etc) and metallics of the shiny and matte variety. basically, i'm obsessed lately. i want all things that fall into these categories.

which i'm talking about over at design me daily while sarah is off gallivanting all over san francisco. i've even picked out a few items i have recently or soon intend to add to my collection. come check it out.

hey, party people. i'm guesting for a couple of delightful ladies today, and, of course, i think you should go check it out.

first, i'm super honored to be babbling about myself with victoria of vmac&cheese. you might learn something you don't already know (like how i've jumped out of airplanes, climbed mountains and what i daydream about in meetings my free time), so please feel free to come by. plus, victoria's blog has quickly become one of my favorites. her daily discussions of the good life are often quite compelling, totally relatable and beautifully illustrated with all forms of eye candy.

 aaaaaaaand to carry on the wedding theme from monday's post, i'm over at blending beautiful today while the lovely kim is off honeymooning. i'm discussing how simple and manly we kept our wedding party (although, we did have 5 flower girls and a femme ring bearer, so i guess the ladies technically outnumbered). i've also pulled together some gift ideas for the men in our lives. i find this to be a challenge sometimes. how about you? come see my picks and let me know how i did!
