Interiors // Javier Castilla

My immediate giddy reaction to this space by Javier Castilla proves that I have not completely abandoned my masculine tendencies. I am in love.

If Eric's place had been dressed like that when we met, I would have been undressed in a hot minute.
TMI?

Also, no, I still have not had this baby.
TGIF indeed.

House Updates // The Nursery Version 1.0

Since today is Baby Reed's official due date, I thought I might give you guys just the tiniest peek into the nursery...Well, the original plan for the nursery. Things have evolved quite a bit since this moodboard and I'm really really happy with where we've landed. (But you'll have to wait to see the final!)

In the beginning, we were begging and borrowing from pieces we already had...which would have been just fine, but I got bored in the 11th hour and decided to switch it all up. Some of the elements remained the same, but I'm going to keep you in suspense on exactly which ones :)

Monday Blues // 47

A little bit of Wearstler can brighten any Monday morning!

Also, this is awesome and is a much cooler depiction of how I would describe my life right now.
Everything is in. slow. motion.

Fashionista // Fall Looks and Getting My Body Back

I really don't have it in me to do a post for today, but I didn't want to leave you guys hanging. Don't want anyone thinking I'd actually gone into labor or anything... (Pipe dream.) So even though we haven't quite made it into fall just yet, I'm seeing some lovely looks on Pinterest and can't help but get excited. Since, you know, I'll have my body back to myself by then.

Surely by then?

Modern, spunky and sweet all at the same time. I have had my eye on geometric terrariums lately.

Type Tuesday // 40 Days of Dating

Last week, a friend introduced me to the site 40 Days of Dating, which chronicles the experimental dating escapades of two long-time friends willing to take a pretty significant risk.

These two friends have their typical dating personas down; she's a hopeless romantic and he's a playboy. So, naturally, they decide to jeopardize their friendship and try dating each other for 40 days.

This includes couples therapy sessions, seeing each other daily and, consequently, having to address their "issues."

Each day, they're asked the same series of questions about what they did, what they're learning about each other, themselves, etc. It's really kind of hard to stop reading.

So the story in itself is pretty entertaining. A wee bit predictable? Maybe. But we don't know how it ends yet! Plus, they're both members of NYC's vast creative community, so the presentation is spectacular. They have different artist friends illustrate/letter each day's highlights. What could be better??

Monday Blues // 46

Lauren Santo Domingo's office, designed by Daniel Romualdez via Architectural Digest

Most of us have probably seen this image already. Being that I just got my issue of AD, I finally got to devour it in all of its glossy glory and I'm dying. Love the mix of pattern, the pink on the walls with those black door frames, the bold simplicity of those prints, the grounding stripes. And then there's the burl wood tables that make my heart explode into a thousand tiny pieces. Too good.

I have been going back and forth between a gray with lavender undertones and a peachy coral for my office at home, and this really makes me lean towards the coral.

Please note that I will NOT be painting said office anytime soon. The will to paint has expired completely. Over it. We slaved over the entry/stairs/second floor hallway this weekend and I don't think either of us (or my mom, who is both a saint and a crazy person because she loves to trim) would care to see a paint brush for some time. I am very very happy with the results from both floors, but the staircase leaves a bit to be desired. I'll take care of that once I can stomach the idea of painting again, but here's a peek at the results so far:

To quote my husband: "I think we have moved past Johnson County beige."

Sassy, right?? Now to get some art on those walls.
LOVE our new Ballard fixture in the entry, too!

Also, if I disappear this week, it's because my dreams came true and I had this baby early.
Mama's ready.

Artist // Boho Garden

Sometimes I wonder how I've held out this long without finding out whether Baby Reed is a little he or she. (We'll know in a mere two weeks, give or take!) I find this to be especially so when I come across shops like this one with gorgeous, vibrant floral art prime for nurseryness (new term).

Awfully purty, right?? Also incredibly affordable.
