Type Tuesday // To and From Magazine
If you didn't catch it on twitter, instagram or any other blogs yesterday, Meg Biram and Katie of Modern Eve have teamed up to bring you the gift guide of alllllll gift guides this holiday season. I was pumped to be a part of the line-up amongst so many other creative folk (I'm making type-driven gift suggestions, of course). Definitely check it out if you need inspiration! With over 50 bloggers sharing their favorite gift ideas, you're sure to find exactly what you need. There are also some cool DIYs, free printable gift tags and a seriously chic tabletop feast for your eyes. Don't miss it!
* You can find my picks on pages 76 & 77.
Enjoy!
* Oops. I should say, I've also started a pinboard (here) with more of my favorite gift ideas. These are literally my gift ideas, so don't expect to be overwhelmed with choices. But for what it's worth...We could all use the help from time to time, right??

Holiday // Happy Thanksgiving!
Ahhh, the famed American holiday where we reflect on what we are most grateful for. I'm so blessed to have a long list, but I won't draw that out today. Though it might be quiet around here the rest of the week for the upcoming holiday, I am stupid obsessed with Instagram, so you will undoubtedly find me updating there.
And I do mean stupid obsessed. How did I go so long without playing this game?? Why didn't anyone tell me??!

Monday Blues // 11
Happy Monday, kids. Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Our weather was outstanding, so I made sure to play in it a little bit, but most of the weekend was spent getting used to my new iphone (#deargodfinally) and rearranging cleaning house in anticipation of guests this week. Eric and I are really excited to host Thanksgiving dinner for the first time since we've been together! Both families will be in attendance which means we'll be serving 19 and playing host/ess for a few days. I. Can't. Wait. The entire house got rearranged in the process, so stay tuned for some updates.
Naturally, this week's Monday Blues had to be a dining room!

p.s. I get to play the Insta game now!! You can follow me @tobe_reed. Woop!
p.p.s. Huge shoutout to Lisa of Elembee for introducing me to Picmonkey. What an amazing resource for maintaining image quality when resizing photos! Was I the only one that didn't know about this??

Work + Fashion // Tote-ally
Yo yo yo, it's Friday, people! Aren't those the best? So full of possibility with the weekend ahead . . . during which we'll be celebrating my little brother's big 3-0. THIRTY! This makes me officially old. Plus, you know, there's Fancy Coffee Friday. Haven't heard of it? Well, this is the one day each week that I give in to the Latte Factor. (I have a mini coffee maker at my desk for fiscal responsibility Monday through Thursday.) And our cafe just got their holiday allotment of peppermint, so look out half caf soy peppermint mocha goodness. Look. Out.
While we're talking work, I made a big transition into a new role this week and I'm loving every minute of it. It has me preeetty excited about the months ahead. And thinking that it might be time to upgrade the old work tote. One of these beauts from Anthro might just fit the bill.

Type Tuesday // Diptyque
On our first full day in the city, Eric and I wandered the Union Square shopping district and came across several noteworthy shops. When we happened upon the home of the blogger-coveted Diptyque candle, we obviously had to go in (well, I did) and were delighted to get the history of the company from one of the friendly associates.
A few fun facts:
* The three founders of Diptyque were artists. They originally opened shop to sell their fabric designs (one of which you see above) and treasures found while traveling. Eventually, they began to offer scented candles matching their designs. Not surprisingly, one of them was a painter, illustrator and budding typographer (yay for typographers!). He is responsible for the unique label designs, many of which were inspired by his sketches of their travels.
* And, on that note, rumor has it that the layout of the letters on each candle are representative of the ingredients (i.e. the letters on the Geranium Rosa label hang as -- you guessed it -- geraniums would). Crazy, right? The scents themselves are all deeply thought out, intended to capture the founders' varied experiences.
* Did you know that the proper way to sniff a Diptyque candle is to drop the candle out of the jar? According to our friend, the jar itself holds the truest likeness to the burning candle's scent. Is that always true, I wonder? Why didn't I know this?

I took the liberty of rounding up my favorite holiday/seasonal scents just. for. you.
And now you know.

Monday Blues // 10
Well, I'm still feeling a bit under the weather, so Monday Blues indeed. The coughing stage is always the worst, no? Total nuisance not only to you, but to everyone around you. Poor Eric is a trooper for both putting up with me and taking such good care of me. I'm so annoying when I'm sick.
I digress.
Let's just keep hanging on to the great time we had in San Francisco and Napa last weekend to keep my spirits up. We had so much fun attending illustrator Lisa Congdon's opening (remember when I mentioned her lettering project here?), catching up with friends, celebrating Victoria's I do's, shopping, touring the city, then heading to Napa with old friends for a little early birthday action.

Would you believe that those pics are totally unedited??! Gorgeous days, I tell ya.

Interiors // Matchbook Magazine
You guys, I am exhausted. And am rocking a head cold that won't quit (damn airplanes...). So I must keep it short today. If you didn't know, November's issue of Matchbook was reeeally quite good. I recommend you take a peep.
Loved the colorful, quirky Savannah home of Robyn Mizrach McClelland the mostest.

My girl, Meg, also has a pretty stellar little guest editor roundup not to be missed. She has killer taste.
I am still a little hung over* from our joyous San Fran/Napa getaway and birthday fun yesterday, so thanks for your patience if I owe you an email. I'll recap soon. Many thanks, too, for the sweet birthday wishes. I'm planning on making this my best year yet! ox
*Fun hangover, not beverage hangover. Although, I'd be lying if I said I didn't put up with the beverage kind at all...we were in wine country, you know.
